Strawberry Lemonade Quickbread

The strawberry season is almost over and I am so so sad. This year I’ve made too many strawberry desserts and if given a choice, I'd make more. Head over to my instagram to see what desserts I made!

The recipe is very very simple and the smell that this bread will leave in your kitchen is tooo good. You’ll be amazed to see how a bunch of simple and easily available ingredients can create such a great dessert! You'll have no idea what I am talking about until you try it yourself, only then you'll agree with me and know how great the bread is.


So, let's get started :

  1. For the quick bread, you will need :

2. In a bowl, add flour, granulated sugar, baking soda and salt.

3. Add the chopped strawberries and mix gently until strawberries are coated .

4. Now add milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla essence and lemon juice.

5. Mix until just combined.

6. Pour in a greased loaf tin lined with parchment paper.

7. Add strawberries on top.

8. Bake at 180 C for 45-50 mins or until skewer inserted comes out clean.

9. Mean while for the lemon glaze, whisk together granulated sugar, warm water and lemon juice until the sugar dissolves.

10. Pour over the hot quick bread. Set aside and let is cool.

STRAWBERRY AND LEMONADE QUICKBREAD


Prep time : 15 minutes

Cooking time : 45 minutes

Total time : 1 hour

Weighs 1/2 kg


Ingredients : For the quickbread : Flour - 2 cups Granulated sugar - 1/2 cup Baking soda - 1 tsp Salt - 1/4 tsp Chopped strawberries - 10 medium-sized Milk - 3/4 cup Melted butter - 1/2 cup Egg - 1 no Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp Lemon juice - 2 tsp For lemon glaze : Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup Lemon juice - 2 tbsp Warm water - 2 tbsp

Method : 1. Preheat oven to 180 C. 2. In a mixing bowl, add flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, salt. 3. Add the chopped strawberries and mix gently. 4. Now add milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla essence and lemon juice. 5. Mix until just combined. 6. Pour in a greased loaf tin lined with parchment paper, put some strawberries on top. 7. Bake for 45-50 mins or until skewer inserted comes clean. 8. Meanwhile in a mixing bowl, whisk granulated sugar, lemon juice, warm water until sugar dissolves. 9. Remove the bread, poke it and drizzle the lemon glaze over it while it is hot. 10. Let cool and serve.
