2-Ingredients Melon Sorbet (sugar-free)

Updated: Jun 15, 2021

Summers and sorbets go hand-in-hand. I love sorbets from Scoop Gelataria in Mumbai. They're not too icy and not too heavy. But this year thanks to the lockdown, Scoop is closed and I can't stop thinking about their sorbets. I tried to order online but I could hardly find a decent place that serves sorbets. So what do we do ? We make it at home!!!

I am an ice cream girl but I don't think I need another fattening thing in my diet. I am trying to shred a couple pounds and also at the same time I just can't keep up w the heat. This sorbet is the perfect way to go about it.

I first made watermelon sorbet and it got over within a day. My family and I fought over the last scoop and that did not end well. I didn't want to repeat the fruit, so I tried muskmelon the second time. Muskmelon was good too. I've always been biased towards watermelon sooo for me watermelon sorbet was the deal. The recipe is sugar-free making it low in calories and oh so creamy!

Let's get started!

Ingredients :

Watermelon / Muskmelon - 4 cups

Banana - 1 cup

There's no 'detailed recipe' as such but here are some pointers :

  1. Cut your banana and melon into small pieces.

  2. You can slice your banana and melon can be either scooped or cut into small cubes.

  3. Lay them on a tray and refrigerate overnight.

  4. The next day, in a food processor add the melon and bananas.

  5. Blend until smooth.

  6. If your blade gets stuck due to the frozen fruits, pause, scrape the fruits from the blade and let it sit for a while until the fruits thaw a bit.

  7. Have patience and do not add any liquid.

  8. Once everything is blended and smooth, transfer it in a container.

  9. Put on a lid and refrigerate it for another 3-4 hours or until it sets.

  10. Do not over freeze it or else it will have an icy texture and we don't want that.

  11. Once, your sorbet is set, scoop it out and enjoy!

  12. These sorbets can be stored for 1-2 weeks.

Isn't it quick and easy ?

Make it right now, send me pictures and tell me if you liked them!
